Less than two hours west of the Metroplex sits a day-hunt operation with more than sixty privately leased sunflower fields, every one of them with strips mowed and ready. The birds are already showing up in big numbers, and early reports point to an unreal season. Lodging is available for larger groups, and with that many fields in rotation, pressure stays spread out.

Deer Country: Seasonal and Annual Leases

Some blinds and feeders are already set up, and there's a dedicated flat pad for RV or travel-trailer dry camping. 631 Acres in Gray County. Four miles southwest of McLean in the eastern Panhandle: open rolling native buffalo grass, sagebrush, plum thickets, and long, huntable draws. This East Texas tract sits between two big blocks of deer country with Christiana Creek running through it, and the terrain bottlenecks deer movement right across the property.
